Rangelands produce a wide variety of goods and services desired by society, including forage/feed of livestock and wildlife animals, water, mineral resources, wood products, open space and natural beauty. The geographic extent and many important resources of rangelands make their proper use and management vitally important to people in everywhere. To sustain this valuable natural resource in Somaliland, Six days (3rd – 8th March 2021) training on holistic natural resource management and conflict resolutions was conducted in Odweyne district and villages aligning Ethiopia boundary under Odweyne district in Daadmaded region. The targeted villages were Beerato, Gatiitaley, Qaloocato, Ceel-same, Odwayne, Lan-Mulaho and Khatumo villages under Odweyne district. Both women and men participated this training actively and all the objectives of the training achieved successfully.

The training was interested and almost all the participants were interactive during the six days of the training whereby all of them involved the discussion, group works and presentation.

The main purpose of the training include improving and enhancing the level of rangeland management and other natural resources available in the region and empowering the communities with skills and knowledge about how to solve  conflicts that may cause the shortage of natural sources in these areas.
